Career Planning

Are you where you want to be?

When you decide to take your next career step, write out your personal and professional goals to see if they align with your current situation. The following questions can help you clarify your objectives:

  • Why are you a Dentist?
  • Are your talents and personality traits being fully utilized in your current practice?
  • Do your clinical and personal philosophies fit with those of your current practice?
  • Are you living and working in a community where you want to spend the rest of your career?
  • Are you doing the type of dentistry you would like to do?
  • Are continuing education, current technology, and training high priorities where you work?
  • Will you ever become an owner or partner in your current practice? Will this happen when you are ready? Or, will you have to wait until someone else retires or decides to cut back?

After you have answered these questions, take the following next steps:

  • Support - Be sure that your family endorses your choices. You’ll be able to move faster when an offer is tendered.
  • Skills - Make sure your clinical skills are up-to-date. Dentistry is constantly evolving. Do you have unique set of clinical skills that increases your marketability?
  • Career Management - Take control of your life by taking positive steps to achieve your objectives.

I’m Not Looking Right Now

Maybe you’re not ready for a change quite yet, but you anticipate one in the near future. There is a big difference between actively looking for a new job and simply staying aware of opportunities. ETS Dental can help you do both.

Even if you are content in your current practice, wouldn’t it be nice to have someone confidentially be your eyes and ears in the market? We can tell you if there is an opportunity that would allow you to substantially increase your income, improve your clinical skills or shorten the time it will take to become a partner or owner of your own practice. If a great opportunity came up "back home" near your family or across town in a thriving, fee-for-service, state-of-the-art practice, wouldn’t you like to know about it?

Every week we are in contact with more than one thousand practices across the country. Most of our client practices are interested in keeping their search discrete so they don’t lose patients or alarm key employees. This means you won’t find these opportunities in the local paper or regional journal or by relying on hearsay. But you can be sure ETS Dental will discretely keep you informed of these opportunities.

It is very common for us to keep in touch with Dentists for years and years. If you would like us to send you a confidential email or leave you a message when a great opportunity comes available just give us a call or send us an email.
